Charities and not-for-profits

I work pro bono for a number of charities including St Petrock’s homelessness charity, RV.ONE community wellbeing not-for-profit and RMA-The Royal Marines Charity.

Everyone has a story to tell

…is the key to raising your organisation’s profile, spreading the word about an important cause, raising awareness about an event or attracting more business.

I’ve spent years unearthing stories destined for the front pages of reputable regional newspapers, the national and international print media and their online platforms. The first step in the storytelling process is to identify the core messages, who should hear them, and how they are best reached.

Using design software Serif PagePlus, I have designed magazines and newsletters for businesses to help them convey their key messages and showcase their work to internal and external audiences.

As a communications specialist and consultant, I can help you:

  • Strategy: work out what your key messages are, who your target audience is and how to get their attention…
  • Content: produce engaging content – words and pictures – for your website (including whole re-writes), social media channels, internal and external communications resources, e.g. leaflets and newsletters, digital and print.
  • Copywriting / editing / proofreading – there is nothing I won’t consider writing/editing/proofreading! Text could include proposals and awards entries.
  • Social Media: identify ways to raise your profile on social media and help manage your social media accounts.
  • Digital Marketing and SEO: advise on digital marketing approaches including SEO.
  • Media Consultancy: advise on how to secure coverage in the mainstream media; advise how to deal with an impending media storm / damage control; advise on long-term media relations strategies.
  • Media / Public Relations: write press releases, pitch to mainstream media; respond to media requests including advising on, and writing, media statements.
  • Create a Squarespace website for you, which you can subsequently take ownership of – or leave me to it!
